Managerial and Professional job titles fall into three major categories:

Director: Manages a programmatic area and professional staff

Officer: Front line fundraising professional, encompassing different areas of development

Associate: Professional staff who supports front line activities

Assistant Director, Prospect Research

Direct a team of at least four research analysts and serve as the department’s primary representative to the directors of two fundraising units. Articulate an overall vision and strategic direction for the central research team and insure high-level prospect research. Oversee training and ongoing mentoring of research staff. Perform mid-year and annual reviews and other management-related responsibilities. Advise on new technology appropriate to the business needs of the department. Initiate, develop and oversee projects that forward the department’s goals.

Development Officer, Reunion Giving

Under the general supervision of the Director of Reunion Giving, and exercising a high degree of independence, develop and implement strategic plans to maximize dollars for, and participation in, Yale College's quinquennial reunions. Responsibilities include support of volunteers who include many of the University's most supportive donors; direct solicitation and closure of reunion gifts; and creation and implementation of creative strategies to maximize giving to the University's highest priorities in reunion years.

Development Officer, International Fundraising Officer

Working closely with and reporting to the Director of International Fundraising and with the Vice President for Development and the President of the University, build a portfolio of international donors and prospects in one or more areas of the following geographic areas: Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, India, Korea, Taiwan, the Middle East, Turkey and others as appropriate. The officer will build a portfolio of parents, alumni and friends, to cultivate and solicit gifts and direct their stewardship. Nurture relationships for self and others at the University for these prospects, in partnership with colleagues in the Development Office, Office of International Affairs and other staff in Development, University Officers, Dean, faculty and donors.
