Foundation Relations
Welcome to the Office of Foundation Relations at Yale University. Our goal is to foster links between the University and foundations in ways that will yield the maximum benefit to the interests of both. Foundations are a driving force behind much of the research and many of the programs that take place on campuses today, and this is especially true at Yale. Foundation Relations staff identify opportunities - programs, research activities, capital projects, fellowship needs and other elements of University life - that parallel foundation giving priorities.

How Yale Works With Foundations
Foundation support for the University comes through a variety of interactions, including:
- Program and research grants

These collaborations sustain a wide range of activities which advance the interests of both the University and foundations in the following University schools and activity areas:

Other areas of collaborative activity:
- Research. Yale has a long tradition of first-class research in the sciences and humanities. Much of the research carried on at Yale occurs within the University's many subject-specific research groups.
- Community programs
- Education Reform:
- Athletic programs
Foundations sometimes partner with the University through sponsorship of academic activities such as symposia or colloquia; events or exhibits at Yale's numerous galleries, collections, and libraries; the performing arts; and athletic events. Institutions that host such activities include:
- Yale Libraries
- Peabody Museum of Natural History
- Yale Center for British Art
- Yale University Art Gallery
- Yale Repertory Theatre
- Yale Symphony Orchestra
- Philharmonia Orchestra of Yale
- Digital Media Center for the Arts at Yale

Many of the University's special events are posted in the Yale Bulletin & Calendar, which is available to the Yale community and the general public as well.
